Carbite Golf Introduces New Putters, Wedges
at Orlando PGA Show
CARLSBAD, CA – 27 January 05 – Carbite Golf will
debut five new putters and a new line of wedges at the PGA Show (Booth 3241)
in Orlando that begins today, it was announced by Bill Zebedee, Carbite president.
New putters for 2005 include the HCG (high center of gravity) Mallet; The
Z Series (Blade and Mallet); the Lady Carbite , with special features and colors
for lady golfers; and The Big Otey , based on the legend of fabled designer
Otey Crisman.
The new Carbite HCG putter has its roots in the famed ZG model which launched
the Carbite Polar-Balanced ™ revolution 13 years ago. The
stainless steel HCG features heel-and-toe weight distribution with a mass of
weight on the centerline above the perimeter of the ball and focused on the
back of the clubhead. A polymer face insert gives the soft feel that
golfers appreciate.
The all-new Z Series features Carbite’s texture touch hitting area. Zebedee
explains, “The Blade putter retains the classic look and feel, while
the Z Mallet is a new shape that incorporates the best and latest thinking
from Carbite’s designers.”
Also new for 2005 is the Lady Carbite , designed especially for women. It’s
a smaller version of the TRi Mallet, with special weight distribution and a
grip tailored for women. The putter heads will be available in two chic
colors, pink and sea green, with matching headcovers. “Also,” says
Zebedee, “a special Lady Carbite logo will be engraved on the bottom
of each putter.”
Perhaps the most intriguing of Carbite’s 2005 clubs is The Big Otey
, based on the legend of fabled putter designer Otey Crisman. Otey Crisman
put ters have made an indelible mark on golf, having won five Masters, four
PGA Championships, one US Open, three US Senior Opens, one PGA Senior Championship,
numerous Senior Tour Championships, plus countless other tour events.
“Legends just don’t die,” Zebedee says, “and this
year, Carbite Golf, one of the consistent leaders in putter technology since
the 1980s, is stepping into the picture with The Big Otey . Using Otey’s
traditional concept of an aluminum and brass clubhead,” Zebedee says, “Carbite
has applied precision computerized machining techniques and the latest in weight
distribution technology to produce a putter that is sure to become a classic.
“We’re delighted that we at Carbite have been selected to design,
manufacture and sell The Big Otey ,” states Zebedee, “It’s
a putter that will have unique appeal…and may even become a legend if
its own in its own time.”
Additionally, Carbite’s putter line includes the popular TRi Mallet,
TRi Blade and Tour Classic that will be available in green grass and off-course
shops in the US and internationally.
Carbite’s TRi bi-metallic putters have forged aluminum heads and feature
TRi-weight technology, with heavy metal heel-and-toe weights and a center weight
in the center spine.
The soft feel of aluminum, combined with optimum weight distribution, deliver
unparalleled performance. Both the Mallet and Blade are available in
Carbite Blue and Black anodized finishes for durability. By customizing
the weighting, the TRi Mallet can be adapted to the longer belly and “broomstick” styles.
“Carbite wedges once were very highly sought-after clubs,” states
Zebedee. “For 2005 Carbite returns to its origins with all-new
wedges that will be offered in 5614 (56° loft, 14° bounce) and 6008 (60° loft,
8° bounce).” Available initially in right-handed models, these
clubs are made to Tour specs, with specialized face technology and proprietary
scoring lines to optimize spin without scarring the golf ball.
Carbite
Golf, which is celebrating its 18 th year designing, manufacturing and distributing
high-quality golf clubs, established its roots as an innovative leader in putter
and wedge design. Carbite putters were the first to incorporate heel-and-toe
tungsten weighting for optimal performance in off-center hits, with the ZG
Mallet debuting in 1992.
The Company also pioneered metallurgical face technology in its popular line
of wedges. Carbite has earned a loyal following among golfers, not only
in the US, but internationally as well.
